Stephanie Muff
Mocksville,NC
I live in Mocksville NC, in a rural location,  am interested in subsistence/sustainable living, handicrafts etc. I spin & do natural dyeing,  using the yarns for sweaters etc. Am interested in Rare Breeds & belong to Rare Breeds Conservancy. I have a small flock of fancy rare/endangered chickens (this is the first time I have raised poultry & the birds are very spoiled pets).
I also do some gardening, woodworking, & have plans to use the forested aceragae of my land as tree farm/medicinal plant farm. I have an interest in Heritage plant varieties, & am gradually establishing an orchard of Heritage/Antique variety fruit trees. My goal is to be self reliant & have some sustainable  income when I retire.
People I work with think I am a bit wierd to have the above hobbies. It would be nice to meet/network with other people who have similar interests!

Steve and Jenny Wilson
Haw River, NC
Steve, Jenny and animals live on 7
acres in the town of Haw River and have
lived on this same property for 25 years.
Haw River is located in the central part of
the state, between Greensboro and Raleigh/Durham.
We have farmed the land (red clay soil)
being able to grow a pesticide, herbicide,
fungicide-free vegetable and herb
garden, perennials, and apple trees rather
successfully after years of amending our soil.
These gardens have been quite fruitful and
have provided us with fresh home-grown products
which we feel has helped us to remain
in good health!

Jenny's speciality is the subject of herbs,
being an active member(and retired officer/board
member) of the N.C. Herb Association as well as
founder of a local herb study group.  Steve's
talents lie in the area of metal fabrication;
however, he is a 'jack-of-all trades' and can
accomplish anything he sets his mind to. We
are animal lovers, and enjoy our 12 'pet' chickens
along with two rabbits, and nine cats. Living
off of the land and being able to be self reliant
is important to us and we enjoy being around
people who feel the same.  We're excited to be
involved in this BackHome Chapter.

Daniel and Dana Holladay
Asheville, NC
We found out about Back Home Chapters because they were referenced in the Back Home Magazine.  We are currently striving to become a more self-sustaining family.  We would one day like to be completely off the grid.  We are into permaculture and organic gardening and currently looking for some farmland.  We are eager to communicate with like-minded people!

Jim Chipman
50 Brewer Rd.
Franklin,NC
Well I work with low voltage equipment very often since I own Appalachian RV Center here in Franklin.
My wife and I have been in the rv business 35 years this year.
So between the business and caring for our children we are quite busy.
So as you can see from converters to invertors to solar any and all 12 volt or 24 volt systems I work with including propane gas appliances.
We do both repairs and service. And have a fully stocked store with all this stuff.
At my house while not completely off the grid I am working with wiring etc to bring my house to 12 volt life so to speak because we lose power here so often in the winter.
I also am a Onan dealer so we work with many back up systems. Currently working on a 12 volt powered water pump garden drip system that will work off solar. We also raise Rabbits and chickens and are into veggie garden all organic. We just enjoy down home living on our mountain. I write many tech articles for Motor home and trailer life magazines.
Thanks Jim
Any way good to meet you and I hope I can help other members when I can.
